China Releases White Paper on COVID-19 Origins Tracing; What Does It Say?

China's National Health Commission says that the next step in origin-tracing work should focus on the US

China has released a white paper on the prevention, control, and origin tracing of COVID-19—which killed millions across the wothe state-run Xinhua news agency has reported. According to the report, China has lauded its own contributions while casting doubts on the United States.
Xinhua has quoted China's National Health Commission saying that the next step in origin-tracing work should focus on the US. The U.S. should not continue to "pretend to be deaf and dumb" but should respond to the legitimate concerns of the international community, the white paper said.
The document, with three chapters - titled Contributing Chinese Wisdom to the Study of the Origins of SARS-CoV-2, China's Contribution to the Global Fight Against Covid-19, and The Mismanaged Response of the US to the Covid-19 Pandemic"—explains in detail China’s consistent efforts towards dedicating substantial resources to collaborative studies into the origins of the virus, involving both Chinese and international scientists.
China says it has closely cooperated with the World Health Organisation on the study of the virus origins with “a strong sense of global responsibility and transparency”.

Blames the US for politicising COVID-19 origins tracing

China has also blamed the United States government, saying instead of facing squarely its failure in response to COVID-19 and reflecting on its shortcomings, the giant tried to shift the blame and divert people's attention by “shamelessly politicising SARS-CoV-2 origins tracing”.
According to the report, the blame game by the US “undermined joint international efforts in the fight against the pandemic and became a weak link in global public health governance”. The paper has also asked Washington to respond to the reasonable concern of the international community and “give a responsible answer to the world”.

US says China had created coronavirus in a lab

Two weeks back, the US government had redirected to a new White House website that blamed China for the 2020 pandemic.
“Lab leak,” reads the banner on the website, “the true origins of COVID-19.” President Donald Trump had long touted the theory that the coronavirus was created in a Chinese lab.
