Soha Ali Khan may be known for her royal lineage and stellar performances on screen, but off-camera, she juggles between responsibilities just like our mothers. However, her choice of breakfast strategy does not just fuel her day but keeps her energised all day. Soha has laid out five breakfast bowl ideas that are quick, filling, and cleverly crafted to meet daily nutrition needs without turning mornings stressful.
“One way to manage the busy lives and tremendous work pressure is by adding nutritious foods like almonds and fruits to our diet,” Soha tells Times Now. But she is not talking about elaborate brunches or picture-perfect Instagram meals. She is talking 15 minutes. Yes, just 15.
Soha loves a bowl of Greek yoghurt. “Greek yoghurt is my go-to option for breakfast as it serves as a primary protein source, fostering muscle strength and aiding in repair,” she says. To add to its powers, she tosses in a handful of almonds. Not just for the crunch, but for their rich protein content and ability to stabilise blood sugar. "A crucial aspect for everyone, regardless of age," she adds.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, according to Soha. "What is better than incorporating fresh fruits like berries, kiwi, banana slices, and more?" she asks. To enhance the flavour, crunchiness, and nutrition of the fruit bowl, she adds a handful of almonds. She chops them but says you can go rogue and throw them in raw or soaked.
The almonds do not just elevate the taste; they bring staying power. “Almonds possess satiating properties that promote feelings of fullness, reducing hunger between meals,” she says.
If mornings are already hectic for you, her oats and nuts mix might just be your new favourite. "Oats serve as a good source of carbohydrates and fibre, essential nutrients for our body," she says. Then come the almonds, “providing 15 essential nutrients like vitamin E, magnesium, protein, riboflavin, zinc, and more.” And if that does not make oats glamorous, we do not know what will.
For those who lean savoury, Soha’s got you too. “This savoury breakfast bowl is a simple and nutritious way to kickstart your day with a hearty and healthy meal,” she says about her poached egg bowl. With eggs being protein-rich and low in calories, it is a no-fuss, no-fluff kind of breakfast. Just straight-up nutrition.
And then there is the quinoa breakfast bowl. “Inspired by the delightful oatmeal bowl, this nourishing breakfast features quinoa as its base,” she explains. It is all about customisation here, with sliced almonds, bananas, and a dab of almond butter joining the party.
Her tip? For a unique flavour, add almond butter just before serving each bowl.
Her personal favourites? The mixed fruit with almonds and oats with almonds.
