Recently Jennifer Aniston’s trainer Dani Coleman revealed the fitness rule that she swears by and chances are it can help many of us. If you are someone who shows up at the gym for 5 days in a row and then never even looks in the direction of the same place for the next 3 months, then this fitness rule is surely going to help you a lot. Dani says “I always tell my clients to aim for three to four workouts a week.” The head trainer at Pvolve, continues with “Four is a trainer’s dream, but three is more realistic with people’s schedules.”
Basically what she means to say is that don’t let perfection hold you back from showing up. We often think that when the next monday comes in we are gonna be regular with the gym and the diet and will start everything at once and be consistent. While all of this appears to be good in theory, it often is a little unachievable in practice. Dani Coleman also urges to start small and to choose consistency over intensity any time of the day. She also urges her clients to scale up.
This means that all you have to do is begin your journey and the rest will follow. You cannot be a lazy slump one day and an athlete the other. You will have to focus on showing up without being the best version of yourself. But when you do something consistently over a period of time, you look back and see that even though it was imperfect, it happened, and that’s all that matters.
When it comes to fitness, all you have to do is BEGIN, you can always perfect it later on. “People try to dive in headfirst and take on too much,” Dani Coleman also mentions. But what is more important is to honor your body where it is at. “Make little choices everyday that build the bigger picture.”
