It helps in enhancing stability, balance and improves posture as well. Strengthening your core also makes movements easier and reduces the risk of injury. It supports the spine, enables efficient movement and power transfer in various activities.
Here are 7 easy exercises to strengthen your core:

Plank

We are starting with the hardest one but don't skip it yet. This is the best exercise for strengthening the core. Hold your body in a push up position with your forearms on the ground. Start small, try to hold the plank for 15-30 seconds and build up your strength gradually.

Dead Bug

Lie on your back with your knees bent and arms raised upwards. Slowly lower one arm to touch the opposite leg. Keep the focus on engaging your core to the max and try to stabilize it.

Bird Dog

This exercise engages your core and back muscles both. You need to extend one arm and the opposite leg simultaneously while you stand on your hands and knees.

Bicycle Crunch

It targets your obliques and abdominal muscles. You have to lie down on your back and bring your elbow to the opposite knee while doing the cycling motion with your legs.

Russian Twist

It improves stability and oblique strength. For this you have to twist your torso from one side to another while holding a seated position with your knees bent. You can hold a 5 kg plate in your hands to build more strength.

Side Plank

This also works your obliques. You have to simply hold a plant position but on one side of your body and have to focus on engaging your core to stabilize the body.

Glute Bridge

Strengthens your core and glutes. You have to lay on your back and lift your hips off the ground with your feet still touching the ground.
