At 145 kilos, Sainath wasn’t just carrying excess weight; he was lugging around layers of self-doubt, harsh voices, and a belief that transformation was a fairytale. Now, after shedding more than 50 kilos and glowing with renewed confidence, this 25-year-old digital marketer in the corporate real estate space has quite the story to tell—one that is equal parts resilience, sibling wisdom, mirror therapy, and poetic revenge through muscle gain.
The Weight of the Past (and 145 Kgs)
It wasn’t Sainath’s first attempt at weight loss. He had already been through seven rounds of trying to shed the kilos, each one ending with disappointment. “I had completely lost hope,” he admits.
Sainath’s weight loss wasn’t a linear story of dropping kilos. While the core transformation took around 6-8 months, life had other plans. “If you count all the minor and major setbacks”, he explains, “it was closer to a year.”
From relocating to the UK to struggling with emotional eating triggered by depression, Sainath had what he calls the full buffet of challenges. The heaviest ingredient? A toxic circle of ‘friends’ who were more a sabotage squad than a support system. “They kept pulling me down and harassing me mentally,” he says. But between Rahul’s pep talks and his family’s unwavering support, even from thousands of miles away, he found the strength to keep going.
Mirror, Mirror, on the Wall…
For Sainath, motivation wasn’t about grand philosophical speeches. It came from the cold, hard digits on the weighing scale. From jeans that suddenly fit again. From the mirror that no longer reflected defeat, but progress. “That was all I needed,” he says. “Consistency and willpower were my mantra.”
The Comeback Diet
There was no fancy, faddish detox. There were no overnight miracles. Just disciplined eating, regular workouts, and the stubborn belief that setbacks are just pitstops, not endpoints. “Oh, I’ve done it all,” Sainath laughs—“emotional eating, binge spirals, all of it.” But the trick, he says, is not to pretend these moments didn’t happen. “Acknowledge them, get up, and keep going.”
Anger? Great Pre-Workout Fuel
One of Sainath’s most powerful tools? Rage—rechanneled. “Never ignore what people say to hurt you,” he advises. “Invest your anger into your reps, your run, your meal plan.” In other words, let your critics eat their words while you eat clean.
A Lighter Body, a Brighter Life
Today, at 91 kilos (and counting), Sainath is not just lighter on the scale; he’s emotionally and mentally freer too with the help of a coach at Fittr. “I feel happier, brighter, and more confident,” he says simply.
His advice to anyone struggling to begin?
Start. Even if your journey has seven failed attempts behind it. Even if you think the light at the end of the tunnel is just an Instagram filter. Because sometimes, all it takes is one spark to remind you that you still have it in you.
