“Please do not follow the ‘Bhumi diet’ from the internet,” the acclaimed actress said on the second edition of the India Climate Summit.
The 35-year-old had made her famed debut in Dum Laga Ke Haisha in 2015, for which she had gained 30 kilograms—breaking the image of a typical Bollywood actress. After that, she subsequently transformed herself completely, losing all the extra flab.
Since then, there have been many articles and stories on how the actor lost weight—without crash diets or extreme workouts. Many wrote about how Bhumi focused completely on a balanced routine, stayed healthy, and practised self-care. Her transformation was attributed to the fact that she had the right mindset along with the willpower to get back into shape.
How does Bhumi follow a healthy lifestyle?
While we may not know how Bhumi lost weight and got back into shape, we do know her healthy daily routine – which is easy to relate to.
In an earlier interview with Vogue, Bhumi shared that her mornings usually begin with a nutritious breakfast in which she mostly eats nuts that give her the required energy to last the entire day. After that, she also goes for a run – which boosts not just her mood but also helps kickstart her metabolism – thereby helping her heart, bones, and joints.
Since she sees fitness as a lifestyle, she also mixes different kinds of workouts like Pilates, running, strength training, and weight training – apart from yoga. Bhumi says she spends an hour daily exercising and usually completes 7,000–8,000 steps.
