Dal chawal is out of the platter
“I’m not going to lie and say I have dal chawal,” Passi says, unapologetically. Instead, her plate is filled with raw produce that is fresh and consists of Ayurvedic spices and superfoods. “My lifestyle is for me to be healthy and functional,” she mentions.
So, what exactly is the Ayurvedic diet?
It is rooted in the ancient Indian system of holistic medicine, Ayurveda. It focuses on maintaining a balance between the body's three doshas, Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Each of these is made up of five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space). Your dosha determines the kinds of foods that will help support your body and keep it in harmony with your mind.
