The Times Network India Health Summit 2025 (South Edition) was held on Saturday in Hyderabad, drawing attention to some of the most compelling issues in India's healthcare landscape. The event featured three high-impact sessions, spotlighting topics such as female health, the role of technology in healthcare, and more. Esteemed dignitaries in attendance included Shri Jishnu Dev Varma, Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, and Dr. Dilip P. Bhanushali, President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) amongst others.

Revitalising India's Healthcare Infrastructure By Leveraging Digital Power
Moderated by Kalpana Sharma, Editor–Health, Times Network, this session brought together leading hospital administrators and experts. The discussion revolved around cost efficiency, accessibility, and tailoring global healthcare models to suit Indian needs. Dr. Guru N Reddy, Founder & Chairman, Continental Hospitals, spoke on the need to balance cost-effectiveness with quality care. He emphasized that infrastructure must go hand-in-hand with skilled human resources and technology. “Quality assurance must marry quality delivery,” Dr. Reddy said. “We were once labelled 5-star or 7-star hospitals, but I’ve proven that you can maintain world-class standards while keeping costs under control—if diagnosis is fast, treatment is precise, and systems are transparent.”

Reshaping Women and Child Care in India
The second session, moderated by Puja Sethi, Managing Editor – Digital Content, Times Network, focused on expanding the conversation around women's health. Panelists emphasized the need to view women as whole individuals, advocating for inclusive, preventive, and lifelong care—well beyond pregnancy and childbirth. Dr Pranathi Reddy, Clinical Director, Obstetrics & Gynecology, BirthRight by Rainbow Hospitals, emphasized on the need to move upstream in maternal healthcare. “Pregnancy should not be the starting point of care—it’s just one moment in a much longer journey,” she said. “India has made strides in reducing maternal mortality, but about 35,000 women still die during childbirth each year. We must begin focusing on antenatal care, early interventions, and long-term health outcomes.” Dr. Reddy emphasized the stark contrasts between southern states with improved maternal outcomes and regions like Assam and Rajasthan where more robust interventions are still urgently needed.

India's Health Tech Revolution – Rising from Local to Glocal
The summit concluded with this visionary session, moderated by Dr. Karthik Anantharam, VP – International, Group Oncology & International, Apollo Hospitals. The panel spotlighted Indian innovators who are taking local healthcare solutions to the global stage, signaling a promising shift from policy talk to transformative action.
Dr. Vidhi Bhanushali, CEO & Co-Founder, ScanO, opened the session by revisiting India’s long journey in dentistry—from importing every tool a century ago to now exporting cutting-edge dental tech. Continuing the conversation, second paneslist Nishan Ali, Founder & CEO, Neurologic.AI, highlighted how India’s scale and diversity demand solutions tailored to its unique needs. In rural Assam, research shows that private institutions have piloted AI-driven stroke diagnostics where neurologists are scarce. The AI models read scans, predicted risks, and enabled early intervention, he noted, underlining how AI can be a game-changer in preventive care.
